Listen to Mini Viva's "Left My Heart In Tokyo"

Mini Viva's "Left My Heart In Tokyo" had its first official airplay last night on Radio 1's Switch. The song received positive feedback - Nick Grimshaw estimated around 80% of good reactions. Annie Mac said that the single "is not bad for one of them pop songs" (??) and Grimshaw added that "it'll grow on you and be massive this summer".

You can listen to a radio rip of the song above. The song is fun, fresh and eagerly dynamic. It has the Xenomania sound and yet it is unlike anything we've heard from them. Beneath the fairly conventional pop structure, there's little tricks and treats to be found.

It has that apparent conflicting nature of a slightly melancholic tone surrounded by danceable energy and attitude. The voices are interesting & captivating, the bass is funky, the synths are glistening and the chorus is instantly catchy, as is the little tune that precedes the chorus (sounding like a cross between the Oriental Riff and the opening riff of "This Diamond Ring").

"Left My Heart In Tokyo" is set to be released on 7th September.
